Friday Spooks! OddBall Art Newsletter

Hello everyone

Today I'm bringing you another fun OddBall Art project, featuring this weeks newsletter freebie and the Premuim Membership exclusive image.

I once again wanted to share a double image cover. Lizzy has been killing it, with all these designs, that can be paired so perfectly together.

This weeks freebie is an adorably, creepy cute bear.  The wings on this little fella, made him the perfect companion to the dark, big eyed fairy.
I used soft colors for this card design, creating a whimsical,  dreamlike look.

OddBall Creepy Cute Chronicles Newsletter

Happy Friday!

I'm very excited for this week's newsletter, because I, once again, was asked if I could design it, and I as so excited.

A redemption story, for myself, because I felt my first attempt wasn't the "level" of good I wanted it to be. But, this one makes me happy.

I decided to do something fun and summery, still bringing in a bit spooky quirkiness into the mix.

Love how this girl turned out! A spooky gal, living her best life at the beach. Used distress inks and oxides to create a sunset background and hand drew the palm tree to add depth and shadows.

How would you use this week's free image? Are you signed up already? Make sure to visit the OddBall website today, and sign up so you can also receive this image,  plus DT and Abassador Inspiration! And while you're there, check out the reat of the creepy cute images that are available in the shop. Use coupon code Eny1 to get one FREE  image with the purchase of two!

International Music Day! feat. Xyron

Hello everyone,

Today I have a fun project to share with all of you. In celebration of International Music Day, I have created a fun gift box, for the aficionado in your life.

I wanted to create a gift box that looked like a record player and with a bit of thinking, I was able to pull it off.
We begin with 2 sheets of 6x6 cardstock
Score on all four sides at the one inch mark
Make a snip on all fur corner, going a long the score lines.
Fold and crease every score line
Adhere all sides together. I used my Xyron Mega Runner. Not only is it easy to use, but the adhesive is strong!
Once all pieces are adhere, you will have a top and a lid.
Bring both pieces together, have a full box. It will fit snug.
To really give it a Record Player look, I added an extra piece of cardstock.  This one is trimmed to be 4x6 and scored , widthwise,  at the one inch mark.
Adhere the scored portion to the back of the "lid" of the box.
To add detail to my record player base, i adhered a 4x4 piece of cardstock to the top, or "cover", of the lid.
Cut a circle out of a 3 inch stencil or die. I used the several sizes of circle dies and my bone folder, to add the creases to my "vinyl record".
Finish the look by added smaller circles in different colors to the center of the record.
To create the needle, I first cut a 0.5 inch square and small circle and glued them to the top right corner.
I then cut two strips paper one that measure about 4 inches long and a little less than half an inch wide. I then cut a one inch piece from that strip and glue the piece together at an angle. They should look like a very small hockey stick.

You can create a pocket , to add a card.

You can add as many details as you'd suit your theme. Add musical notes, pops of color,  the sky's the limit!

I share a video showcase of the project in my YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Happy crafting

Hello everyone!

Hope the week has gone by smoothly so far. Today I'm sharing a tutorial for a super fun and easy, stepper box!

 Measurements for the entire project:

6x12 inch piece of cardstock
Score at 3, 6, and 9 inches

Four pieces sheets of 6x6 cardstock
Score at 1.5 inches on all sides

For the lid you will need another sheet of 6x6 cardstock
Score at 1 3/8 inch on all four sides

OddBall Art Image I featured is IMG#284 Kawaii Seals and Big Eye Girl on Rescue Boat. It's such a wonderful set and deals are my favorite animal, so I had to use it for this project!

I have a full tutorial video showing how I put the box together that you can find here.
I wanted a fun, summer theme,  and when I saw this paper pad from DCWV, I knew I had to grab it and use it for this particular project. The Nautical theme is given a twist, by using bright pink, inatrmead of the traditional red, and it looks stunning.

Creepy Cute Chronicles Freebie Friday!

Hello everyone,

Today I want to share another project I created for OddBall Art , using the freebie that will be included in tonights Newsletter!
This adorable pair is straight out of a Grimm Fairytale. I loved this story as a kid, and even as an adult, I dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood for a halloween.

I decided to create a background using IMG#376 Rustic Forest Birch Trees. I added a moon , that i drew using a circle stencil, and colored all my images using Arteza Everblend Markers.

I wanted our little wolf friend peeking through the tree, so I used a craft knife, to cut a opening large enough, to tuck him behind. To finish the overall design, I added stars using a white gel pen.

So many possibilities  with these cuties! Remember,  they can be yours for free, when you sign up to the newsletter! Do so before midnight tonight,  and it will be sent to your email, a long with Design Team and Ambassador inspiration,  new releases and so much more!

Cirlce Boxes | Packaging Ideas

Hello everyone and happy Monday!

Today on the blog I want to share with you how easy it can be to create your own circle boxes. These are perfect for gift giving, packaging ideas, decor and many more.

You want to begin by gathering all your items. For this project I used several circle dies, making sure one is slightly larger than the other. The larger one will be for the lid, the smaller one for the base. You can also use stencils or any other circular object you have to trace the cirlce. Make sure sure that the largest one is no more than 5 1/4 inch all around.
You will also need three strips of paper measuring 3x12. These have to be either the same color cardstock or pattern paper, to have a cohesive flow.
All three strips will be scored the 1/2 inch mark, at length,  only on one side. One of those strip you will then cut at the 6 inch mark, and this gives you two smaller strips.
Adhere one of the smaller strips to one side of one of the long strips. Making sure it only adhered at around a 1/2 , that way you are left with a very long strip to work with.
Along the 1/2 inch score line, you will cut several notches, from one end of the strip, to the next.
Bend and fold each notch to create a crease. This will make it easier to adhere to your circles.
For todays project I will be using the Xyron Mega Runner. I find it to be a very easy-to-use tape runner. Requires minimal pressure and it has a very easy glide.
Once the desired glue is applied to the notches,  you want to adhere said notches to your cirlce. Choose which size will be the interior of the box and make sure it facing you, so the notches are glued to the back of the circle.

And just like that, either the base or lid are ready! I also cut out two extra circles, in the coordinating size, to cover up the notches before I proceed to decorating.
Stack them up together by size, largest to smallest circle box, and you can create a fun paper birthday cake!

For a full tutorial make sure to visit my YouTube channel.

Thank you for joining me today and I hope you have a wonderful and crafty day!

Eny ❤
